New March!!

So, the new thing I did for March was learning to drive stick-shift. I have wanted to learn how to drive stick for the longest time, and I finally accomplished it. My brothers always talk about how fun it is to drive stick-shift, so I took the initiative to learn. Thom started teaching me before he left, but I had never gotten the hang of it. My good friend took me out and we just drove for a couple hours and I am pretty good at it now! I am really excited to accomplish something new!!

Anything Different...

I find it interesting how different my life has turned out to be. I imagined my life a certain way, with certain things happening. For example:
1. I thought I was getting married this summer, and it didn't work out.
2. I wanted a candle passing in my sorority, and I won't ever have one of those (so deps about it).
3. I thought I was going to be a school teacher one day, def didn't happen!
4. I thought I would be married before I ended school, and that won't happen.
There are so many different options on my mind that I had never even considered. Like these major decisions that I have to make about my future. Since when were decisions so hard? And why do I all of the sudden have these life-changing decisions all at one time?
I was given an opportunity to run for DG president, and I am taking it. I have always wanted to be DG president, and now I have the chance, so I hope I get it! It is interesting how things turn out, and how timing is EVERYTHING. I know things happen for a reason, and so I am excited for what is to come. I will keep you updated on DG pres.
I decided that having a plan for everything in my life isn't necessarily a good thing. I mean, I have had my life planned out to the T my whole life. Now that things have taken such a dramatic turn, I almost feel like I have no idea what I am doing, and for some reason I really like it. I feel free, I feel great.
Here I come life, with no plan. Isn't the surprise always better when you don't know what is coming?

Foofles

I was very lucky to be able to take my niece's 3 year pictures. Seriously, there is nothing better, she is the sweetest, most darling little thing. She had a hard time focusing, but what 3 year old can focus? I LOVED this, and this is why I love my job. I get to capture the most wonderful moments with my camera. Enjoy!

We Are The World

So, I just watched this video to the song We Are The World with my mom, and it was absolutely amazing. It made me cry like 3 times. I especially loved seeing Michael Jackson in it. I just love seeing celebrities singing together for such a great cause. It is amazing to see the whole world come together. Watch the video, you will not regret it!! Watch it here.

Their Day In My Hands

I am SO BLESSED to have my job. I seriously have the greatest job. I shot a wedding tonight, and there is nothing better than seeing a couple who loves each other SO MUCH that they want to spend FOREVER together. And I am the one who gets to capture this beautiful day for the couple. The best day of their lives lies in my hands. A little overwhelming, but such an amazing experience every time.

BLOOD

So today there was a blood drive on my way home from school, so I decided to stop by and give blood. I had to keep my eyes closed the whole time, because even looking at blood makes me nervous. All in all, it took me about a half hour for the whole process. A half an hour to save someone's life. They say for every person who donates blood they can save 3 lives! Also, there has to be 56 days between each time you give blood, so that is about 6 times a year. That is 18 lives saved in a year. Pretty impressive. I just think about how lucky we are to be able to give blood. I feel bad for all of the times I could have given blood but didn't because I was too scared. GIVE BLOOD!!

Book For March: The Secret Life of Bees

Now that I am reading a book every month, I am glad to say I have finished my book for march extremely early. This will be good, because my next book is a bit longer, and I need to get started now so I can finish it in time for April to end.
I chose The Secret Life of Bees, because I had heard how great of a book it was. Here are some great quotes I found from the book that stuck out to me...
"You know, some things don't matter that much, Lily. Like the color of a house. How big is that in the overall scheme of life? But lifting a person's heart-now, that matters. The whole problem with people is... they know what matters, but they don't choose it. You know how hard that is, Lily? I love May but it was still so hard to choose Caribbean Pink. The hardest thing on earth is choosing what matters."
"Don't sort-of-maybe live, but live like you're going all out, like you're not afraid."
"It's your time to live. Don't mess it up."
Imaginary Friends: "How a lost part of yourself steps out and reminds you who you could be with a little work."
"Regrets don't help anything. You know that."
"If you ned something from somebody, always give that person a way to hand it to you."
A big reason why I loved this book is because the girl's name is Lily. I think anyone who has the name Lily is liked. It is the most beautiful name. I learned a lot from this book, and I am excited to see the movie now to see how it compares to the book!

Thank You For The Music

I was listening to ABBA the other day, and the song, Thank You For The Music came on. I started thinking about how much joy music brings me. It is incredible what music does for me when I am in a bad mood, great mood, or just want to listen to a good song. It is amazing what stories can be told through music. I feel that every song can fit to any situation I am in and speak to me directly. So, I just want to thank all of the musically talented people in the world for writing your stories for me to listen to, because without music, my life would not be as awesome as it is.
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty
What would life be?
Without a song or a dance what are we?
So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me.
THANK YOU FOR THE MUSIC!

Wedding of the Year!!

Over the weekend, I went to San Diego for Josh & Tiffany's wedding! Our family has been waiting for this day for a while, and we are so happy it has happened.

It was the most beautiful, perfect day! It was warm and just wonderful. Everyone was so happy and the San Diego Temple is the prettiest temple I have ever seen!

This wedding was perfect for me to go to. The way Josh and Tiffany talked about the love they have for each other was wonderful. They were both so selfless and only cared about the other person. My mom said something that really stuck with me. "You know you love someone when their cares become your own, and you forget about yourself." Josh & Tiffany showed a perfect example of what love is.

The Cure To Any Problem

I take pride on my dad's famous quote,
"A nice warm bath cures any problem."
I completely agree.
